Everyone Looking To You

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. 

You open your hand, satisfying the desire of every living thing. 

Psalm 145:15–16

I am struck by the words "to you." 

The eyes of all look to God. 

Even when others THINK they are looking to us, 

they are actually looking to God.

Our job is be like a modern-day John the Baptist, pointing to Christ.

Even when we think everyone is looking to us,

or that everything (family, friends, work) depends on us...

Even when it FEELS like everyone else is looking to us,

they aren't...

They are looking to God...

and God provides in due season.

May we all have the sense today, in the mundane moments, and in the deep moments...

that God is busily providing for us, and for others

and we get to be present for it!
